okayy
so smoke was coming out of my sub box
and now one of my kicker l5's no longer plays.
did i blow it?
is this fixable?

smoke is never a good sign. 99.9% chance its DONE maybe kicker will warranty, but i doubt it.

if they dont.. warranty it there are recone kits.. no then.. did you have too many watts running to it? bass boost on? or were you just playing hard for a while?

well my amp is a brutus hifonics 1600 watt class d
and i had 2 l5's
which are 600 rms 1200 peak each
and the amp gain was at 75%
and i think boost all the way up.
someone told me the voice coil is blown
the sub is locked up...wont move barely


*i dont have warrenty on the subs
i bought them from somebody

u prob. blew a voice coil??? how old are the subs??? if there older than 1 year... ur screwed!

sub is locked? you froze it.. like the cone feels stuck? its frozen.. Done.. Ko'ed.. nothing you can do to fix it... and god why does everyone use bass boost like a volume knob..

Learn to set your gain. Sounds like you clipped the shit out of them.

but i guess so....
im jus gonna sell the second one i have
and buy some power acoustik mofo's

Those L5's should have been able to take that power all day long. Sounds like you were clipping it or the sub just had a defect. What size/type of box did you have it in, and was it a shared chamber?
