Default amp help!

i have a hifonics brutus 2000 watt amp about 3 years old... i have it in a 4 door dodge ram powering 2 m.a. 12's, its been working great until lately... it will be playing and then it will cut out randomly... i checked all connections and everything seems fine... i got pissed last week and hit the top of the amp and it turned back on... now whenever it turns off, a slight hit and it turns back on...

idk if the amp is on its way out or it just needs something inside re-soldered... any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks

More often than not, a loose terminal screw at the amp power connections is the cause. Better get checking it soon as you can actually burn up a perfectly good amp if you starve it for voltage with loose power/ground inputs. I have seen something as stupid as a loose terminal burn up a JL 1000.1 amp.

i just checked it again and all the connections are solid, idk of ne good audio shops around my house, i live in spring hill but im always down in the new port richey area, audio video specialties went out of business by my house so now im looking for a good audio shop that wont rape me and say the amp is no good

could my head unit possibly be doing it? its just a cheap one from walmart, someone told me that the head unit could possibly be cutting power from the amp, but that doesnt explain why the amp turns back on after i hit it

check your ground.. not the one attached to the amp.. the one attached to the car.. Did you check the remote wire connection? pull it out and put it back in.. make sure there is enough wire.. mine used to shut on and off cuz it wasn't in all the way..

If you haven't gotten it fixed yet, give us a call tomorrow. Maybe we can walk you through it over the phone and if not, you can swing by the shop (we have tons of customers that drive from Spring Hill due to a lack of shops) and we can see if it is something quick/easy. You need a new shop anyway so come by and check us out...
