Default amp help

well months ago my ground wire came off my amp and i was putting it back on and when i was screwing it down my friend decided to take my ebrake off and the car rolled and the screw driver touched the ground to the top of the amp and now the only way the amp will come on is if the screw driver is touching both the ground and the top side of the amp where it touched when the car rolled..

any way i can fix this?

Sounds like the internal ground may be blown. I bet if you open it up you will see it burnt right by the ground.

Have you tried using a new wire for the ground?

Some amps use the chassis of the amp to distribute ground to different parts of the board. It sounds like the trace(or even the small wire in some cases) that links the ground terminal to the chassis is blown. Thats a very uncommon problem, but it would be possible. Was the amp turned on, or power already in the positive wire while you were hooking it up?
