Default Questions...

Alright heres my deal. A cell went out in my freakin battery took my cd player highs amp and 1 channel of my lows amp with it...talk about a shitty day. I got a new deck new highs amp. But now im looking for lows and dont wanna spend a ton of money on what i need..that sucks because my sucks are 1400watts peak 750rms. So i found a diesel audio amp 1100watts rms for 100bucks...does anyone know about them? is it worth trying? thanks.

(also should i put a fuse on my ground? notice my lows and highs amp ground connect was blown out after the cell went bad)

Ground fuse? There would be absoulutely no reason to do that-I have NEVER seen one installed at any level. Your scenario actually sounds like the car was jumped and cables were connected in reverse. I have also seen that type thing happen when a car is hit by lightning (lightning does funny things to mediocre grounds).

Diesel products? Maybe one step above flea-market specials (ie: Boss, Pyramid, etc)--MAYBE. Even one of my main electronics distributors steers all his accounts away from their products. He told me a while back that the DOA ratio is almost 30% (meaning 3 out of 10 Diesel products are returned defective out of the box)!

You may be better off purchasing a used amp from a reputable TR member or reputable pawn shop if that is all you can afford. Used amps are usually trouble though (there was a reason that it is no longer in someones car...)

Default Diesel Amp

Hey I have never personally used Diesel Amps but there is a pretty long standing Shop over here in Pinellas that has been using Diesel for quite a few years as there entry level amps (Radioactive / Custom Edge Audio) and the owner never once had anything bad to say about the line that I heard.

Now as far as used amps unless you are buying it from either a reputable shop that took it out of the persons car themselves and tested it while still in the car or a reputable person then I would not recomend it because like MCOR said there is probably a reason why it is no longer in the persons car.
