I'm spoiled, i like good sound quality. Kicker doesn't do it for me.

Yes, I don't like kicker's sound quality so I'm going to jump down about three notches into very mediocre territory.
It's all subjective.
hifonics, polks, alpine, elemental designs, diamond, crossfire, JL obviously, etc. They all make good stuff. Some of the stuff I mentioned doesn't get loud but is fairly easy to make clean sounding.

alpine makes PS2s?
Alpine in general sucks now, bunch of cheap chinese crap.
Their subwoofers are still fairly respectable in price, OK power, and slightly above OK sound quality
