Default Wiring Kit question

1.Would it make a difference if you dont have the right amount of gauge wiring for an amps wattage? (I kinda know the answer)

2.what if you have a 4 gauge wiring kit that usually handles 400-1000w's(got the info from a site) and you have an amp that is just say 300-350w's...will it matter if you have too big of an gauge wiring kit?and will it affect/or harm the sound/amp anyway?

bigger = better. there's never harm using larger wires with dc current.

it you have a larger wire it will not affect the sound quality - but what i see 99% of the time the install of larger power wire and no upgrades to the grounding. Remember, electricty travels in a circle to your battery -0 you might have a nice big fat power wire, and a nice ground at the amp to metal frame, but did you upgrade from frame to battery ground? shops normally do not do this and it can be the cause of many problems.
