Had a company install a cheap-o alarm with remote start and 2-way paging when I got my truck in January.. well stupid thing is, that the driver door doesnt unlock all the way, so that when i pull the door handle to open teh door lock falls back in and is locked, causing me to either have ot use the key or unlock it from the back seat inside the truck.. pain in the a*. Also, the passenger side door isn't even read or known on the circuit now.. no dome light, no alarm, but does lock / unlock.

To make matters worse, when the auto start is kicked on, it locks the car automatically.. irregardless of the alarm system, so if it is already seeing the car as "unlocked", i have to lock then unlock the car again to open teh doors. Also, the accessories are not coming on with autostart.. the fan turns on for the a/c, but the condensor does not run so it only blows hot air. This created a big issue when I accidentally sat my keys down next to my daughter in teh back seat after auto starting the car for her, did not realize they where not in my hand anymore and closed the door.. she got locked in the car with hot air blowing and me with no way to get in! my daughter is only 2, so was strapped into a child seat with no way to let me in...


Can any of you alarm guys fix this and how much? I've never done advanced alarm install (diodes etc) so not sure where to head with this one.. i already tried taking it back to the people who installed it and it goes from bad to worse (ie the symptons change each time.. fix one thing something else is messed up).. I can't take it anymore!!!

 

Compressor:
the 2004 dodge ram then theres an extra wire that must be hooked up via relay to engage the compressor - pink/yellow at the ignition harness.


Door Locks:
The double pulse to unlock is picky - its possible your alarm is either not using real relays (ie it uses a 200ma negative pulse) which isn't strong enough to drive the single wire unlock. Its also possible the installer used resistors that arent quite the right value.

I suggest you purchase a DEI 451M to solve the lock problem

Door Triggers:
There are four door triggers - chances are your installer missed one or the wiring has failed for the passenger trigger.


Auto Door Lock with RS:
This is a programmable feature on most alarms. Enter programming and disable it.


That truck is a pain in the ass to do alarms in. I usually charge double to even think about working on late model Dodge trucks.
