Default Box Building Question ??

I am building a sub enclosure for my 15" solobaric l7 sub i want the sub in the middle of the box but i want it to be ported in the opposite side like pointed into the car, but i want the port also in the center so it can go through the arm rest. I dont know exactly how to do the port. Rep will be left with any help.

Thanks

use a slot port, start it on the side and then open it up at the middle.

putting the port on the opposite side of the sub is going to make it near impossible put the subwoofer in phase with your mids, the resulting sound will be either horrible or slightly better than horrible...

The design youre asking for is basically everything that could be wrong for a enclosure design.

So what would be the best way to do it or just not port it at all ?

Aero ports and make them curve inside the box. Solution Solved.

1. placing the sub equal lengths from each side is asking for standing waves.

2. ending the port on the opposite side of the enclosure reverses half the phase from the midrange speakers and adds a delay that will make it impossible to correct the phase difference.

Not sure what you're describing here.

I've done ports on the opposite side of the sub and have had no problems, even did it in my own convertible. Maybe my ears just couldn't pick it up, but I don't know, I think I've heard my share of systems.

As a side note, I've seen many home theatre subwoofers also using this design.

It will really be a trial and error type situation. Slot port could look something like this...
