Default Big 3 question..

I'm going to run 0/1 to a distro then 4 ga to my amps, really the 0/1 is overkill, since I'l running ~800 watts. Can I just upgrade my big 3 with 4ga, since I have a shit ton of it lying around, or do I have to buy more 0/1?

I'd use at least 2ga. But I reccomend 0/1 ga just for the fact that it'll be easier to upgrade upon in the future if the need ever rose up.

LOGIC? You seriously want to invoke logic in a conversation about fake hijackings, missiles hitting the pentagon, and bombs planted throughout the world trade center? I thought it was a given that logic was checked at the door when entering one of these threads.

Id run 4ga all the way through. The extra cash in wire isn't really worth it.

Where is that site you used to post up all the time that had the "wire to power" diagram?

You should be fine with 4 gauge to the back. But that 0 gauge will help voltage at the amps. I would only do the big 3 in 0 gauge. Most factory wiring is already 4 gauge.

Well, I already have the 0, so I'd rather not buy another run of 4 to run to the amps. Sure, it's overkill, but it's already here. I was really just thinking about my big 3 upgrade, and if it's really going to be that much of a difference between 0/1 and 4 gauge, or even dual 4 gauge runs.

If you have extra 0/1 use that, if not do dual 4 gauge runs.

I dont think I'll have extra 0 beyond a few inches. I figured dual 4 gauge in some loom would be just as good.

Ill take the make/model of a car that runs 4ga alt -> bat wire. thats gonna be my next vehicle.

0ga compared to 4ga over the 2-3ft you will need for the big three will make absolutely no difference since your alternator cannot produce enough power to bring a 4ga wire to capacity... The ground wire should be as big as you can make it though.

Every car in my household, 01 Civic, 97 Caddy, 06 Accord, my boys Charger uses a small 0 gauge/thick 4.
