Replacing the cap with a battery.
I already payed to get an additional battery in my car. How exactly does this work? Does the amplifier take all of it's power straight from the extra battery while the alternator sends power back to the battery in the trunk as well as the one in the engine bay? I did purchase a 120 amp alternator, but I am still somewhat confused. How(if it does) does it split the energy to both batteries? I was told by someone on this site to ditch the capacitor, so I did. The shop is going to do the install, but I would at least like to have a little heads up on what he will be doing. I don't know much about car audio. I just know it is expensive, and takes time.

electrical current and storage is an equal opportunity supplier. Whichever batter is lowest, will receive the most power. Whatever device demands the most current, will receive the most current.
Basically the shop is going to hook the battery in the front in parallel to the battery in the rear with a relay that will only trip when the engine is running to isolate them.
