Default Thinking of upgrading the MTX

Currently I have two 15" MTX 7500s, and a Merlin Series II amp. It will cost me roughly $460 to upgrade my 7500s to the 8500s, to include a new box and upgraded amp. I am tossing the 3.0 capacitor, and replacing it with an Optima red top(I was able to aquire about 9 of them at no cost). Would this be a smart move at all? As of right now I am satisfied with my setup, but now I have the cash to make it better. I cannot afford to go to the 9500s because that will cost much more, but I will see. Any opinions?

Any chance I get to upgrade to a better amp and better subs I go for it!

Just because it feels good doesn't make it right!

D6 ftmfw - I got a 12" from Dan and it is by far one of the cleanest subs for under 150.

Well I already bought the 8500's. They handle 600 RMS compared to the 400 RMS on the 7500's. I also bought a stinger battery for the cap. I am waiting on a box though because I need a different box for the 8500's. The box is free of charge though. Only thing I am paying for is the price difference between the subs. Oh yeah, and the battery. I may also purchase an additional amp, all depends on my decibel level. I just want to be over a 141.1, which is what I had with the 7500's. The shop is giving me a month with the 8500's to determine if I want to go to the 9500s. In six days I will get to ride with the new system. Oh yeah and I got another touch screen head unit.
