I was wondering how many of you went to that idiot and got ripped off, with huge a unexpected price at the end. He told me my install would be finished in 4 hours...it took 4 days. He said if I paid him in cash, he'd knock off $20. That's great, except I didn't get a receipt to prove it. He added on all kinds of costs to the original quote and said that he'd enforce his hourly rate if I got the cops involved. I ended up negotiating, but still $150 over quote. During my 4 day wait, I watched countless customers get pissed off and screaming at him in the store. The actual work wasn't bad, but the shop guys and that idiot owner (Andy, I think) are two different kinds of people.

But yeah there have been a lot of bad times from buzzoff... but just as many good times. I think its more what you expect. If you have a nice car and expect quality work, you will be pissed. But if you have a honda POS you will porlly be happy as pie!

 

The scary thing is that he will still be in business and making boat loads of money in 10 more years or maybe even 20 years.

Damn, them boys are getting beat up alot lately. Not sure what's up but we've seen the evidence of fallout here at the shop lately also (not to mention the horror stories from bad installs here on this forum and caraudio dot com). We just repaired a Viper 5900 install they had done because the module fell out from under the dash-not once, but twice! The guy brought it back to them the first time, they "repaired" in like two minutes, it fell out again two days later! Seems if you don't pay extra for the "high security" install, they just don't even bother mounting the brain at all?!? Had another customer in here last week that paid us to redo his tint because he paid $89 for two front windows tinted "lifetime warranty" (price alone, this is $30 more than we charge) and it peeled less than a month later from the top. They redid it again but blamed it on him. It happened again in less than a week! He finally brought it to us (under his neighbor's referral), and we just stripped and retinted it with our LLumar film (he still paid $30 less for the whole job with us including stripping) and headed back to them for a refund (tint we removed didn't even seem to be LLumar-even customer could tell the difference!). He also showed us the price quote for his audio install, which was all parts above retail by about 10% and what seemed to be a shop hourly labor rate of $90??? Needless to say, we completed his install today, in one day, price was exactly what we quoted ($289 less than B.O.). He is sending his boss in tomorrow for a new stereo and subs (his boss cancelled his appointment with Buzz Off last week due to this guys bad dealings). I don't see how they can continue to make a living like this. We would be out of business out here in 6 months if we operated like that. Buzz Off wasn't always like that. Wonder what has changed there....

 

I've never personally been there, but had 5 friends go there, and complain also.
I'll never go there for that reason.

So many complaints on this place lately; has anyone reported them to the Better Business Bureau and/or to the local news?!?! That's how you get shit taken care of....I'm sure they could care less about the five people that saw this thread and the negative pub, but put it on prime time tv, it's a different story...
