Gimme some ideas.
These are freakin amazing...I put a set in the suburban I'm building. Was going to do a sub as well, but there really is no need.
also, these are full range, not just bass transducers. You sit in the seat, and hear full range. Step out, and you don't. Oh, and they hit hard!

I used the Silver series, which are the 'entry level' on about 200 watts each. They put out over 200 ft. lbs. of force. Its too bad you can't come demo them, though...they are amazing.
These are not the old 'bass shakers' or 'rump shakers' or 'butt kickers' that have been around...these are pro quality, full range, tactile tranducers. They have been using these in themeparks and high end home theater for years.
In a convertible application, like my suburban, they should be really cool, in that since the sound comes through your body, wind noise won't be as big of a problem.

I was actually thinking about asking you about that or the other device (the one on your display that mimics bass for speakers) for my MS6 Toby, the Bose does give me a better than decent amount of bass, but coming from a car with two dedicated 12" hard-hitting subwoofers in a ported box to a small 8" in my rear deck, it's been a little strange and lacking... although the clarity is starting to make up for it.
Oh and Dalton, i need to drop this subwoofer off sometime, what time are you off work tomorrow?

Drop by and check out the tactile stuff, though. Its too cool.

could do sumthin crazy stupid like this guy
6 inch sub in dash install - Team Integra
6 inch sub in dash install - Team Integra
That looks more like an 8 inch sub to me... I have a pair of 6.5 speakers that look smaller than that, weird.
And yeah I would probably reccomend against doing that.

So now heres another predicament: I've got my component set. Crystal mobilesound 3 way 6.5/4/and uhh whatever size the tweeter is. I can fit the 6.5 in the 6x8 opening, but that leaves little room for anything else in there. Or put the 4 and the tweeter in there and try to find ahome for the 6.5?
Or just say fuckitall and buy a new set?

Well that's one way to do stealth. I guess it's just level of commitment

Make a new mounting bracket made out of wood and fiberglass it.
Or pod.
You have a lot of choices since those truck footwells are huge.
and the tweeter should be 1 to 1 1/4 inch, i believe that's the standard.
I definitely have liked the sound of a bigger woofer near my side, it gives it just that little extra mid-low bass that sounds and feels great. I'd put the 4" a little further away and pointing more towards you. This is where the pod idea is pretty nice. Vinyl it too and you got a sexy setup.
