i building mine right now i was just wondering who goes for sq and who goes for max db and only cares about that. and if you do have sq what is your system like. just wanted to know maybe set up a meet at a later date and just shoot the shit about car audio. i have noticed that car audio has changed from sq and db cars, to who can put the most tv's in there car and not focusing on what it is like to have your car sound like a real concert. anyway just wanted to see.

 

I'm trying to build my car to be SQ-ish (while maintaining some loudness ability) but the fact that my car is about 13-14 years old and little rattles happen everywhere doesn't help...

I'd say wait about 2 more weeks and head to Toby's meet. Most of the cars there are only focused on SPL but personally i'd love to see someone's SQ car... only really good car i've heard so far was one of Toby's cars.. forgot which one but it sounded amazing -- had the IB box in it with the speakers in the footwell.

almost no one at the meet has more than one screen in the car so I dont know where you get the feeling its all about tvs. Few actually have primer, yet alone accent lighting either.

My lexus is set up for SQ...I wrote up the system in the 'system review' thread, stickied in this forum. It does have screens in it, though Its usually here for the monthly meet, if you'd like to hear it. Actually, its here most days, if you want to drop by.

I used to be an Iasca judge, and SQ was one of my favorite areas. I can't bring myself to build stuff that doesn't sound pretty good. Even my loud car is pretty musical.

my car is anti db and sq. its in a class of its own thats beyond rice. its like grain.

Mine will be 100% sq, but with a pair of 12s in the trunk just in case Im in the mood for a lot of bass. Hopefully, after almost 2 years, Ill be installing it all over spring break around the 2nd-3rd week of march.
