Number of channels depends on what you're going to be powering. If it's subs, I would stick with mono.

MA is ok, never been a fan though.

MA isn't the best, or the worst, in my opinion. I think they are grossly overrated power wise, but they are inexpensive.

I've heard rumors in the industry that MA is going away. Might be worth checking, since if they go under, they take your warranty with them.

Could be just a rumor...they did have a huge booth at CES.

mono- subwoofers only
2ch amps - subwoofers and a set of speakers (you can connect two sets of speakers but you lose fading ability)
4ch - 2 sets of speakers (you CAN connect subwoofers, but that would be a waste of money, power, and just overall be relatively stupid)

there are more types but these are more common.

technically, you could hook up a mono amp to speakers as well....it just wouldn't play in stereo.

yeah, i know.

But who the hell wants mono?

Technically you can hook up all your sound system on one amp if the resistance allowed it.

i just meant use mono for subs only.
