I just thought of something: would the size of the power wire to the amp have anything to do with it?

Ofcourse it could. If the wire is 10 gauge or possibly even 8 gauge, your amp could be producing even less power than you think, even further underpowering the subs. You really need to get decent power to the subs to get them to perform to their full potential. Tuning your system (deck and amp) will do wonders as well. Every variable counts...from wiring, to box, to tuning...and it all adds up.

The reason I asked that is because I have an 8 gauge and I definatly(sp) think it is to small. When I bought the truck it already had everything hooked up, so I just threw in the amp and subs and was all set. I need to quit being lazy and put in a 4 gauge wire.

Things were so much easier two years ago when I owned my last system and was using kicker =) Im glad I stepped up a notch though. The sound quality is def. noticable between my old kicker setup and the JL stuff I have now. Just gotta learn the little stuff to go along with it.

No, not yet, havent got around to it. Also I am tossing around the idea of getting a 10w7, found one for a good price.
