No Name Amps 4000watt $125 ...why?

Because watts aren't watts. They lie. The car audio market is not regulated, so they can claim whatever off the wall number they want. General rule of thumb is you get what you pay for. Top dollar amps generally are true to their claims, use quality parts, and hold solid warrantys....none of which can be said for a no name manufacturer. Take a look at the fuse next time you see a 4000w amp for $125, I'm willing to bet it will be about the same size as that of a name brand 200w amp.

Ratings are wehre they get to make up the selling points. Yeah, 4000 watts, at 40 volts.
4000 watts? with a 16 guage 12v input? and a 20 amp fuse?

i'm going to bet its probably 250 true watts of dirty power and a horrid amount of THD.
they probably rated it at 14.8 or 15 volts, peak power at 2x more than the top rms which is probably at 1ohm which it probably cant even be stable at.
So.... you figure 250 @4ohms then do 500@2, 1000@1 and then 2000@peak and with the extremely high voltage (most cars are 12v or 13.8v) its like 4000ish.
of course this isnt always the case but it could be a likely one...
You can pick up a higher quality amp for the same price and you're getting the same wattage but you're also getting a warranty and a true number.

You guys are all wrong - 2000watts for 125 is the ricer discount.
If you get quoted like 500 you know you dont have enough neons on your car to qualify for the discount.
BTW I ust bought replacement tail light tips for whoever kicked mine. next time ima put a hole in ur ass.
