Default matchin an amp?

i recently purchased two ten inch eclipse sw6103dvc....lookin into JL amps....was wondering whether to go with the 250/1 or the 500/1....they are rated at 200 RMS.....was wonderin if the 250/1 puts out 250 to both speakers or 125 to each...because my dad has the same subs with a 250/1 and it sounds great....but if i could get a little extra thump with the 500/1 without damaging the speaker that would be nice.....

The 250/1 puts out 250w rms total power...meaning 125 per sub. I'd go with the 500/1 if I were you though....those subs will be fine.

500/1 puts out 500 watts at max volume. How often do u turn your deck to the max volume and drive? How come no1 considers this?

Nope. sould be no problem whatsoever. You can keep the gains down if you're scared.

Because max volume is not what the industry goes by. All products are rated along similar guidelines.

One of the best, IMO. But you're not going to hear a big difference in sub amps anyways.

if you have the 500/1 gain set to 4volts and your headunit puts out 4vrms then you will never put 500watts to the subs until you are at full volume. Thats what the industry goes by.

Now if your a dousche and you max the gains to .2 volts you will get 500w a lot sooner.
