U.S. Amps......
I had the md42. I was talking to my brother and he said that he put the box in his car when I was at work cause I told him he could, and my sister used my car. I am thinking that maybe the speaker wires touched ends while the amp was on since the wires were free without a box. That could be the cause of the amp frying right? I like the amp cause when I had my car amp set for everyday use I hit a 141.1, and I am sure if I turned it up I could get a lil louder. I get the amp back from the factory in about 7 days. Thanks for the input yall

USAmps was aquired by some oriental outfit last year... many rumors of their drop in quality have been floating around on other forums. Consequently, after the aquisition, the HQ was going to be moved to CA from FL... dunno if it ever did.
I can't say if the quality has dropped or not, but I can say that my old xterminator series rocked & never died after numerous times going into protection due to long playing times in hotter than the devils drawers summer days...

THey werent bought out by an asian outfit, they were bought out by an asian person. And if you ever been to California, you would have seen that doesnt mean much!
The new owner is, I beleive, an American citizen, living in Simi Valley(or somewhere over there). Also, they have 3 lines of amps, with the cheap line being made overseas, the two better lines being made in California.
Also, the guy who owns US amps is also a major shareholder of ID...Basically like 50% IIRC..
