What happened to the Eclipse 3-ways? Of accomodation stuff, Id probably drop a little extra coin and get the Polk SR's, although I wouldnt get em for their retail price.

Most of the Kicker mids and highs Ive done seem more install-dependent than other stuff as far as how theyll end up sounding. Im curious myself though, especially with that 30mm tweeter.

Per my last brands thread, I don't think you can go wrong with the kicker stuff. AS KPR10is says, install is more important. The SS stuff does look good on paper, though.

Biggs, Eldridge and Gates used to all use, and win, with kicker.

$210 at an employee price...what's retail on these?

and for the eclipse 3 ways, i dont really want to get into customizing the door panel for the extra speaker, spending the extra money on a speaker that isnt really worth as much lol... 50% off or 70%... i take 70

Yikes...that's big bucks for a seperate set. They do look really good, though. I'm looking forward to hearing them.

I'm currently trying to convince myself to buy a set of HLCD's for my Lexus. Big bucks, but I've always wanted to try a set.

And I agree with two way vs. 3 way. More speakers and more crossovers mean more problems with phasing and imaging.

I'm a fan of simple...the fewer speakers you can use to get a solid sound stage, the better. Unless, of course, I'm messing with 6 1/2 subs, or home theater 4's in my doors. One was an attention getter, the other, an experiment in line array's. My Lexus will be much simpler.

i like simple... over time there is always somthing that comes disconnected, sounding differant, or some type of problem and hte more simple the easier it is to trouble shoot.

I have the SS series in my truck, they are pretty damn loud maybe because I have a 200 watt amp hooked up to them, and an eq. but other than that really nice speakers.
