Default my very first box

ok well my freind wanted a boix for 4 6's this is a mids box i was like ok ill try and bild you a box never built one befor... so i told him to get me some wood ill but the screws and outher stuff you get the wood... he brought me a peice of good plywood so im buiding him a box for mids and highs out of plywood... well so far so good ive spent about 10-15 mins. on this box and i got it cut down need to cut top bottem and sids tomarow... but tonight i cut it down and cut 1 hole out this is my very first box i ever tried to build so dont flame on me ill post more pics as im building... LMK if i did a ok job for my 1st box.
The first pic is a box i got for free and i got bored and mounted 4 6's on it and 3 neons.

I dont think you are supposed to used plywood, but the cut looks straight?

It's ok when using mids....they really don't even need a box. So it's a good practice piece. Now when you start doing sub boxes, you want to make sure it's out of mdf, and air tight.


Instead of builing a box though, you should be taking the stock speakers out of the doors, building adapter plates with the plywood (if needed) and mounting the mids and highs there. Save the big bulky boxes for subwoofers.

well my freind had the plywood siting around and i wanted to try and build a box today he came over and said i could have the box so its mine i just got done cuting allmost all the peices but the sides pics up soon

It's good practice.. the cost of the wood was right so you can get familiar wth the tools/procedures. I know the first box I build out of mdf came out like asshole, and wasted about a sheet of mdf.

more pics... it looks ok i guess i will be puting mossy oak cloth on it and makeing it look alittle better... the speekers are some bullshits i had laying around and threw in the box to see what it looks like with speekers in it...

You need about .35 cuft of space per woofer. from the looks of those pics you need about half of what you have now.

did you double check your impedance wiring? even mids will burn an amp out is wired low. wiring too high will just clean up the sound a bit.
