Default Got subs and box, need wiring & amp help!

Alright guys, I'm really cornfused!

I finally settled on a pair of 12" Infinity Reference 1242w DVC subs. Yeah, their the cheapies from CC, but they were "buy one, get one" and I had a $15 off coupon. I also scored a really cheap sealed box too. The subs are dual 4-ohm voice coils and I want to make sure I get the wiring right. I don't have an amp yet, so i'm open to suggestions. So do I wire the subs like this? Do I want a 1-ohm load?

Then buy a 2 channel amp and run each sub off it's own channel? Or do you recommend a 4-ohm load and wire the subs like this...

Please help since I'm retarded when it comes to this stuff. Thanks, Dan.

1 ohm is gonna cost you in SQ if thats your goal stick to 4ohm if you would rather get a little more power then hit up the 1ohm.

I HIGHLY doubt the amp he's gonna by is 1OHM stable. Either get a 2channel amp and run each sub at 2OHMS or get a JL slash series amp and run them at 4OHMS. CC doesnt sell single VC subs? Or Dual 2 or 8OHMS?

^^ This is prolly the best setup for your situation ^^

2ohm stable amps are relatively common. I even saw a legacy 2ohm amp

Ok guys, I think I'm starting to understand. I want to wire my subs like this.

Or this...

So, now we get to wire the subs. The box I have has one + and - terminal for each sub. On those terminals is about 1 foot of 14awg wire soldered to it. The subs themselves have the 5 way binding posts. So do I want to pass the existing wire through one of the binding post holes. Then add a new wire there also and then run the other end of the new wire into the other post? Or is there an easier/better way?

Also, what are your thoughts on this amp? http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=13487

The wiring diagram is exactly right..

looks like one amp is older than the other but exactly the same specs.

But do you think the amp will work with my combo? Is that audiobahn amp decent? How about those profile amps? Thanks, Dan.
