Soap and water and a generic cotton cloth? Or something else? I'd like to keep my cd face plate as clean and scratch free as possible.

Usually I take a soft cloth and spray some 20/20 window cleaner on the cloth and very gently vipe down the surface. works for me...

DO NOT use chemical agents to clean a faceplate - They will eat away the clear gloss of the opaque plastic covering of the faceplate. Soft dry terrycloth ($3 at walmart) will keep a faceplate clean, shiny, and fingerprint free for years.

if you use alchohol or windex I guarantee that in a few months you will see fogging and possibly watermarks in the plastic that will not come out.

I use a little mixture of cum and lemon juice. Works like a charm.
