alrite guys i need some help with my homwork lol. ive searched everywhere and i cant find the answers to these 2 questions.
1. list the largest reason for using fiber optics cable in vehicles today
a. easier to repair
b. faster transfer of data
c. more wireing
d. fiber optics are affected by electro magnetic induction (emi)
2. name a vehicle that uses fiber optics and where they use them.
any clues? resorces?

Also, collision detection systems could send data nearly instantly across the vehicle deploying airbag systems with more accuracy.
Also, audio/video ysstems can transmit data with much more accuracy, optic cables can combine 500+ regular signals into a single cable with two binary converters at each end. The result: MORE SENSORS!! MORE LIGHTS!!! Basicly more everything without the need for more wires.

2 seconds with google returned the above links, heres the search string:

I know the the high end jaguars have Fiber Optic collision detection systems, I beleive they also carry the rear view camera signals as well... need to verify that though.
i knew i could count on dalton.. thanks a 5hit load. now i see why they would want us to know this shit for collision repair

I was takin a look at the process to repair the cables - wow, thats gonna be my cash crop after college. I can envision thousands of people with broken stereo/OEM video equipment because of faulty fiberoptic designs... mmmmm think of the money they will be willing to pay....
the repair of the fiber cable isn't that hard to do, but being able to afford the fusion machine and test equipment will be the hard part. A mechanical splice on the fiber might be good enough for the speeds that the car will use but with the vibration that a car has I wouldn't trust it, fusion is the only way to go. people will pay a mint to have this fixed up to the point that it becomes mainstream, but I don't see that happening for a long time.
Let us not forget Moore's law. I give it 20 years before Socket sets are obsolete LOL.
but seriously 60 years ago it was hand crank, now its auto crank with a heated washer fluid. Another 60 years and auto piloted 3 dimensional flight would not be far fetched...
