Arrow dynamat subsitute

dynamat is pretty pricey. Is there an alternative to dynamat that's half the price? Isn't the material dynamat is made kinda sorta like the material to lay over tiles? A material that can be bought at Lowe's or Home Depot?

Stop rattles with liquid nail and a caulk gun, to deaden road noise and clean up mids use adhesive roofing from lowes, works just like dynamat without chrome finish.

I want to deaden sound, but not road noise. Deaden sound meaning a more "solid" bass. I don't have any rattles from the trunk. If any, the license rattles but i'll take care of that with 3m tape.
