Default Anyone work at a car stereo shop?

I was wondering if I could upgrade my speakers in my car, but people have said before b/c of the make and model, etc. that it would cost a good amount of $$ or something? Anyone that would be able to price me something? The car is a 1997 C220 Mercedes and I just want to replace the broken components and maybe put in a subwoofer and amp that I have sitting around. thanks!

Matt

mercs can be a bitch, you more than likely have an amplified system. if so You may or may not be able to use aftermarket speakers. Alot of the time its an All or None type of deal So ya it can be expensive.

Yeah I think I have an amplified system....wouldn't I have to replace my headunit or something along with the speakers?

For the best sound, you're going to need a new deck, amp, and speakers. Otherwise, it is possible to just throw in some speakers, or just a new amp and speakers...but the factory setup will probably sound better.

Depends On Which Factory Amp System Is In The Car.
You Can Allways Add A Amp For Subs,
You May Be Able To Change The Speakers If They Are Not Individualy Amplified
Only Way To Tell Would Be Take Doors A Part Remove Speakers - Test Impeadence..

Probably not. How many channels is the amp?
