Tuesday I had no problems @ all driving to work and after work I tried to start my car and got nothing. Had it jumped off and drove it home with no accessories @ all on...I tried turning on the lights while I was driving and the car bogged and the speedo started bouncing. Replaced the yellow top with an el cheapo battery from Advance Auto. sound is so much clearer and bass hits alot harder.

anybody have any ideas what might have happened? The tester @ Advance confirmed that the battery wasn't holding a charge and the alternator was putting out a consistent 14volts.

 

Batteries go bad ya know... Its only just a chemichal reaction that provides stoarge of power, and its not limitless. Sounds like you had a drain tho.

 

The yellow top isn't made to be a starter battery anyways, although it is designed to be fully drained and then recharged again without any negative effects on it. You really should have went with a red as your primary. I believe all Optima batteries have atleast a 3 year warranty though, so maybe you can pick up a new one if it's not holding.

 

I traded it in as a core with the new battery.
