Yes, my Treos are 4ohm DVC.

NoTLaDStyle tested the box -- ended up showing, what, 5ohms? BUT, they subs are louder with my Clif Designs 2ohm amp than they are with a bridged Kenwood 4ohm ampm which produced about 100watts more RMS that the Clif

I always thought two 4ohms (like a dual voice coil) wired together would give you 2ohms (therefore each output on my box would be 2ohms, which would mate to my 2ohm amp), but maybe I'm wrong?

Wow, I feel like a complete idiot now, lol!

2 4ohm single voice coil speakers can give you 2 ohm. Your speakers are dual voice coil, therefore you can get either 1ohm or 4ohm.

That's both subs wired together, correct? My two subs aren't wired together -- there are two seperate pos-neg terminals on the back of the box. Wouldn't each terminal be 2ohm?

SOrry dude, i didnt explain it out good enuff

you have dual 4ohm subs
INSIDE the box they are wired in series to 8ohm on each
to the AMP we got 5ohms because of native resistance. for all practical purposes you have a 4ohm setup, my meter is really sensitive and it showed up at 4.6ohms which rounds to 5ohms.

You need to open the box up and change the inside wiring to 2ohms on either side(wire them parallel) as of now they are wired in series to 8ohm.
