Default What 8's require the least amout of air space?

I just had AVE install 2 Diamond 8's in my truck. It is in a stealth box that is very small under the rear seat. They told me they would sound great if they fit in the box. They fit and sound terrible. Not only is there no bass but nothing but distortion. The 8's are hooked up to a Keenwood 450watt amp. I trusted AVE's opinion but Diamonds are the only 8's they carry and i think they just sold them to me just to sell them. It sounds so terrible the stock radio was better.

We've done 4 JL 6w0's in a couple porsche's, and it's sounds pretty good...nothing that's going to shake your mirrors off, but very tight and clean. If you're interested in a setup like that or a couple 8w0's, come by Soundadvice on Dale Mabry & columbus..we can definetly hook you up.

JJ would NEVER sell anything just to sell it. Bring it back, have them retune the amp, whatever they need to do. Go there on a weekday so you talk to JJ (the owner) instead of Dean who works their counter Saturdays. Trust me, they wouldnt ever have purposely done that. Of all shops Ive ever been to, including Tampa, they bend over backwards the most for you. Dean, who builds their boxes, stayed til midnight on a friday night and came in at 6 am on the following saturday just to get my friends box done quickly.

I'm 29 years old and have been going to AVE since i was 16. That is why i went back. Nobody beats their prices on most stuff. I talked to him today and he is taking back the 8's and i'm getting something else. JJ said no 8 will sound good in that box so i'm trying another aproach.

Glad to hear it. I hate to hear bad reviews about them, not only because bad reviews for them are few and far between, but they do good work, not to mention their prices. JJ is one of the most knowledgeable people in car audio, and also runs a business like it should be run, being completely honest and usually doing anything in his power to get your system sounding as good as possible.
