Anyone in here have technical experience with Amps?
My Zapco amp keeps cutting out whenever I turn my system up.. Can only keep it at 1/4 volume before it starts cutting out..
To clarify: It doesn't skip; I can still hear audio from mids/highs, but the bass cuts out. Further investigation shows that the amp actually turns off at higher levels (power LED goes out, fan turns off) but turns right back on. Sometimes amp cuts out after going over speed bumps, rough turns, etc. I have investigated all connections and everything is secure and complete. Remote, ground, power is all secure on both ends. Even took off the power connection, restripped, and reconnected for some fresh copper strands..
Obviously this is quite annoying. Any thoughts? I PRAY my amp isn't going dead.. Anywhere else I should check?

head unit? May sound odd, but if the pre-out voltage drops, or one of the connectors isnt making a solid connection behind the h/u.
or turnt he gain down? or else the amp is en route to out.

It's those shitty Zapco amps.
I agree though, check your remote turn on and your deck. Swap in a different deck if you can to test it.

Well, looks like it may have been the remote. Took the deck out and upon first inspection everything looked OK. As I was about to let out a "what the fu.." the remote line from the amp fell out of the crimp. Turns out it was real lose. Restripped and recrimped, and so far so good. I haven't driven anywhere, but appears to be better already.
Thanks guys.
