Sub Repair Question.......

Default Sub Repair Question.......

I searched and couldnt find anything..........My ? is I have 3 Jl audio 12" w6's.........and the little foam part on the outside of two of them has began to rip.......Is there anyway to fix this or are they trash........

Find a local JL Audio dealer, and see how much it would cost to have them send them into JL and get them repaired.

i no a guy who that happen to some pioneers two of them and it costed 20 to put in a new piece

partsexpress.com sells speaker surround (the little foam part is called a surround btw) repair kits fairly inexpensivly. JL (if their not under warranty) proably chargers 30+shipping per speaker to do a little repair like that. They're definately not trash event it their surrounds completely fall off. The surround just controls upper liniar excursion, it will cause a loss of back pressure to the sub if its not repaired but it will not cause the sub to fail.
