I agree with the yellow top idea. Also consider doin the big three. I have never beleived in using caps. There more of just a look good type of ornamet, they really dont do much. Its just another device your car has to charge.

yeah i bought caps and now i regret it, they say it helps your lights not dim, ehhh wouldnt go that far, there is a VERY VERY Small noticable differance.

to me the cap helps your lights not dim but all its doing is its not takeing so much current from your batterey at 1 time......... just buy a yellow top i just got 1 today ... but if u really want to buy a cap im selling mine in perfect shape 2.4 F. pm me if u would like

I'm just trying to do my first stereo install right. I am not looking to spend any more money than I have to. Thank you all for the info.

installing it is not the hard part picking out the right subs and amp is ... diont know how many systems ive gone threw...

IMO, a good system is 75% install, 25% equipment. And caps are not advertised to have any effect on lights dimming....that's not what they're sold for at all.

i dont think you can make wal mart subs sound good thats just what i think you have to have some decent shit to work with ...

Actually, I saw this guy on another forum awhile ago who would take even a low end sub (ie, a single rf punch 12) and hit 145-155dbs.. His enclosures were far from average however. He's a big name in the audio world....can't remember all the specifics though.

Pionerr 8200R deck
Subthump Stealth and amp racks
Sony Xplod front speakers
Rockford Fosgate Rears
Stock Mids (For now)

What do you guys think of this system?
