Default home system

we finally cleaned out our garage and were turning it into a game room. i thought itd be cool to put a radio in there, wiht some subs. only thing i dont want it to run off my regular home stereo so i just wanna pick up a cheap amp and sub and throw it in there. what all would i need. like u know at the audio place they got everything setup so they can test ur stuff out well i think i got the idea of what they have setup but not quite sure.

Cd player, itd need rcas to plug into the amp .
Remote- i could run a remote from the amp and jump it to the power coming from the battery
Car battery
ground- coming from car battery to amp
power- from car battery to amp.
sub

is that all itd need? i was just wondering about the cd player, do i need to connect any of the wires from the harness or are those just when u actually plug it into the car.

You need a big ac/dc converter that plugs into the wall if you want to run a car amp. If you hook the amp up to a battery, it's just going to die. The car audio sub would work off a home audio amp. Either way, kinda a dumb idea if you ask me....home audio equipment is much more efficient than car audio, therefore you'd probably get better results with less money if you just stuck to home equipment.

Why not just buy a cheap home stereo? If you're after decent bass you could always buy a plate amp from www.partsexpress.com and mount it to the sub box you make at least that will run on 110.

As for the CD player there should be a diagram on the top of it. There will be some stuff you obviously don't need like power antenna or illumination.

Also you're going to have to get something to convert 110 to 12.

You'd have to recharge probably every 30-60 minutes. Kinda a PITA if you ask me.
