amp keeps going into protect mode.
why does this keep happening...im gettin a battery added prolly next weekend. is that the reason its happening...pullin not enuff current? or could it be somethin else...it mainly happens when i first turn the truck on....once ive been driving for a bit and cranking i can quad out hardcore and it not happen...its those like cold starts that it shuts off if i turn it up more then a little....any help appreciated. tia

btw- the amp makes a clicking sound whenever i turn the car/deck off and off....maybe its the deck getting power or a fuse or something? i duno if that helps..im completely dumb when it comes to systems..and most anything else. :)

could be not enough voltage... I really am not sure..
|
Instead of guessing, why don't you test the voltage at the amps? And the clicking noise is probably a relay built into the amp.
|
Maybe the subs are wired wrong. And the clicking mine does the same thing. Still works fine.
|
if it's one lil click the thats the amp powering on, quite normal.....
if the volts drop too low when u crank it up that can cause an amp to go into protection like Spyder said....does it heat up really bad after it clips? (btw clipping is when the amp goes into protect or shuts off for some undisired reason) |
hey derek, were u at the ronnie setzers car show a few weeks ago hitting 145dB? think i might have talked to you or someone with the exact same setup before u went up........... i hit 138.7 before the shittiest of my subs blew......probly hitting 140+ now
