Default quick question (wheel well)

Say you are putting a sub in the wheel well, is the sub mounted like this?

Box on the bottom, then the wall (for flush mount), then the sub on top of both, then screw down the subs.

You can do it a couple different ways...

Top mount- the sub screwed into the baffle from the top which will leave the sub sticking up out of the enclosure ~3/8".

Bottom mount- The sub screwed into the baffle from the bottom which will sink your sub into the eclosure 3/4"(depending on the thickness of MDF you use)

I would top mount the the sub but make an additional baffle with a cutout of the outside diameter of the sub. Use wood that is as thick as your sub is tall when it sits in the enclosure. This way it a flush look.

no HD wont sell that carpet.. discount has rolls of grey carpet or balck but its not that nice

gulf fabrics i belive has what you want or www.selectproducts.com

now non hardening caulk to mount the subs? dont use any liquid to mount the subs, that will just be a mess. if you need some sort of sealant, use weather stripping. call some audio shops, most of the time they have some of the gasketing that is left over from other subs.

imho ive never needed any gasketing for my stuff
