Audio Newb
Hey, you guys got any links for someone trying to get into the whole car audio thing? I want to put a system in my car, but I need to know more of what is going on with the whole car audio thing before I can make any judgements to what I need.

STFU n00b! search!!1!

Yeah, that site is fine, just look around for links to other car audio boards while you're at it. Most of the info you get from those boards will be flavor-of-the-month hype and biased reviews, I'm convinced- but there is good info there. And unless you're leeter than I am and actually know how to pick a speaker scientifistically, it's down to hype and listening to shit yourself.
Here's a thread:

Basically what you want. Front components (you can listen to my cl-61a's off of an avionixx 400.2 any time- I got the hu set up a little better and they sound much better), a 10 or 12 inch sub (idq 10 or 12- I know miles is a fan of the idq 12's) and two amps or a four channel amp with the rear channels bridged to run the sub.

www.Sounddomain.com and stop in some of the local shops for some actual hands-on.

jordan is right, most audio msg boards are hype driven consumers, with some serious competitiors.. a lot of bias, and it doesnt help that its all the "no name" internet only companies..so QC tends to be slack...

Only problem with no name audio is the companies are alot of times around one day...gone the next. I guess if you can purchase the product cheap enough, warranties aren't too important anyways. That and the confused look on people's faces when you tell them what you have.
