Default friends moms car is fucked up, please read

friends mom has a ford focus with the blaupunkt head unit factory, when you turn the head unit on, it turns on for half a second, then off, then on for half a second, then off over and over and over. then when you push the poewr button to turn it off, it only works like 1/4 of the time, and it stays on cuz those fords can leave the head unit on without the key for like an hour or some crap like that. i dunno, im thinkin its pretty screwed but just seein if anyone had any ideas.

Sounds like there is a short in the system, like the radio is going into protection. Is there any added components or is the whole system factory? What year is the car? Maybe a wire is shorting to ground or to each other.

its a 2003, everythings factory. Yea i think its just the blaupunkt factory head unit like jesse said.

she called ford and talked to some bitch who goes: u have to bring the car here for us to look at it and tell you whether its under warranty, theres an $80 charge to look at it

I called: yeah as long as the car is under the 36,000 mile warranty, which is bumper to bumper, and nobody has tampered or damaged it, its covered 100%.

Great customer service job Freedom Ford

Take it to Ford, let them deal with it. There's no reason that shouldn't be covered.
