Default Installing a CD Player Question

I have a 1997 Saturn that I would like to put a CD player in. The dash stereo only has the AM/FM and Tape. How hard generally is it to install one with a CD option? My concern is the way the stereo is integrated into the dash... There is another version of my car that has a CD changer in the trunk. This car doesnt have the CD changer, but it does have an AUX on the radio, but does nothing. Is there a way to wire the AUX and place a CD changer in the trunk? Any help would be great! Thanks.

most of the time unless you buy a cd changer from the dealer or a place like Technicar in oldsmar, you wont be able to use the aux plug because its different from a regular changer plug. the best bet would be to install an in dash cd player and not worry about a changer. if your really worried about screwing it up, get a radio from CC so they can sell u the harness for it and for the car so u wont hafta connect any wires, its just a plug-and-play harness. also, any regular size radio (called single din) will fit in there, its just a matter of whether or not you will need to use a dash kit to fill the extra space.

hope this helps

Take a look at this, this shows exactly how to take out your old radio and install an after market single din cd player like kpr was saying. Maybe this might help you decide what you want to do

hey, thanks alot guys. You were a TON of help. After reading what you guys said and inspecting the dash and radio I understood. I went down to Circuit City and found the mount for my car and got the CD player. A question I should of asked the guy but didnt is, how do I begin to uninstall the old radio? Do I take a flat head screwdriver and pull it out some that way or does it usually have a panel or something that comes off? I REALLY appreciate all the help.
