ok, it's not audio, but i'm sure because of all the wiring involment some of you can help me. i have a civic and i'm putting in power window. i have everything i need and can do all the wiring except one wire. the power wire. everyone i talk to say just wire it to a 12v remote or something. ok what exactally should i wire it to and do i need any other hardware. thanks guys

 

well if you wire it directly to a 12v source, it will be useable all the time, which would be kinda cool... but if you wire it with a relay to a swtiched ignition wire, they will only be useable when the key is on

 

go to the battery and then put a realy inline to cut the power when the car is not on, cuz if you go to another power source that is being used for somthing puting the windows on it might overload it and that would be bad

 

Whatever you do, don't use a test light....they can be extremely harmful to today's vehicle's computers. I agree with the relay idea, for safety, power windows can produce a signifigant current draw.

 

if you use any kid of test light use a pgi probe they are air bag and computer safe
