civic = sold
truck = ready and willing
miles = temporarily rolling in money
audio = yes

plans may have changed slightly... i'm not sure exactly what i want to do with my truck. its a toss up between:

1 12" db drive and 150 db of total devastation and bleeding ears

or

2 12" IDQ's, in a sealed box, not QUITE as loud (but would still most certainly rock the fuck out), and my alternator won't pray for death

the main difference between the two plans is amp choice... if i go with the 2 idq's, i can rock the fuck out of a dls a5, saving myself a good 400 dollars on another amp + wiring, dist. block, etc. (which honestly would be better spent on some dynamat/edead/whatever) and ensuring a long and happy life for my stock alternator. buut, i'm giving up the chance for more bass than anyone should ever need ever. either way i'm looking at a snazzy fiberglass enclosure of somewhere around 2 cubic feet (although the db drive one would be ported... and make full use of the subsonic filter on whatever amp i get for it) and lots of big freaking wires.

discuss

I don't know much about DB subs...but I do know the IDQ's are awesome in the SQ department. Guess it depends on what you're goin for.

well that's just it... i don't know what i want... nice, soulwarming bass (that can still crank)... or spine liquifying, brain melting, eardrum rupturing, wake up people in the next county bass.

Though blowdrying your hair with bass may be fun, excessive bass gets boring quick...to me, a good system is one that reproduces music as accuratley as possible. What type of music do you mainly listen to?

everything... you name it, it gets played. in all honesty i'm leaning towards the 2 idq's, mostly because i love sealed boxes and tight bass.

Yeah, they're impressive subs for the money. Sounded great in my buddies xterra, but then he switched to a single 10" w7 and that sounded just as good....

JL has become bandwagon, but there's no denying the w7 is an awesome sub...both build quality and performance wise. The price is a little excessive, but my friend got it at a nice discount which is probably the only reason he went with it. He knows his shit though and is a SQ fanatic.

http://www.dls.se/english/fstark/a5n.htm

and i'd also like to point out that their amps are insanely underrated
