Default 6x8s-RF vs. Alpine?

Just like the subject says. Alpine Type S 6x8s vs. Rockford FRC4368s? These will be run off my pioneer HU until I get an amp that'll push 50x4rms. I'm ordering these today or tomorrow. Thanks.

Oh and so you know the price difference is $108 shipped for the RFs and $144 shipped for the alpines. Also, the alpines are 2-ways and the RFs are 3-ways if it makes any difference. Thanks.

Damn guys. I went looking on caraudio.com forums and everyone seems to think going with 6.5" components is the way to go instead of 6x8 coaxials. Now I am thinking of just skipping the 6x8s and going with only 2 sets of type 4 components and a single 12. Am I just thinking too much or what?

if ur paying $144 for alpine type s speakers then ur getting bent over to begin with. i usually get type r's on ebay for just over $100.

as for the main topic, i havent the RFs so i cant say, but i do love the type r's in my car. however, if you go with type r components, youll need an amp to power em. i have a 60x4 alpine h/u, and when i go above like 26 volume (alpine goes up to 35 for u noobs lol) , the tweeter cuts out for its own protection.

good luck

I was saying the total price for 2 pairs of Type-s's shipped was $144.

I've just decided to go with 2 pairs of 6.5 components, either the type r's or the cdt's I think CL-61's or something like that. Which should I go for? I think 2 pairs of components should be enough highs for me, right?

I hate components in the rear...total overkill. The correct imaging would be to have your more powerful point (amped components) in the front and just throw in some decent coaxials for rear fill. Alot of SQ competitors won't even run rears. It's not needed.

IMO, take the money you would have spent on two cheap sets and just buy one good one.

So type R's are cheap ones? I thought they were good ones? Well anyways, how much better do components sound than coaxials? Say Type R 6x8 coaxials in my back doors and Type R components in the front doors? I don't need so much like a sound stage as just loud as all hell.
