Ok, so your amp has to be rated at the same or lower ohms than your sub? Sorry for the dumb questions.

Yes, basically. But the ohm load your sub(s) produce changes considering how you wire them. If you're looking for a sub amp, my best recommendation would be to look for a mono class D amp, stable to 1ohm....you'll be pretty safe with about any combo you throw at.

Well I was going to wire 2 channels, one to each voice coil, to my sub.

The amp would see a 4ohm load in that case.
