I'm Sailing awayyyyyy.....*Cartman Voice*
Alright Jesse, here they are. The Sail Panel Pictures.
Story behind the Sail Panels:
The tweeters in the 2nd gen altima are behind the door in a VERY tight spot and shitty location. Barely any sound gets out. So I decided to relocated them to the sail panels. I decided to get Jesse to help me with the Bondo-ing since I have never done it before.
We started by drilling holes in the stock sail panels and glueing in the tweeter mounts. Then Sanding them to ensure the Bondo would adhere. After thate both proceed to sand away, fill with more bondo, sand, bondo, etc. Of course, Jesse was doing a better job than me.
After we thought the panels were smooth enough, we painted them glossy black. They turned out alright... but some dust/sand got onto them and they were too shiny. Main problem was that we were rushed, and the spray paint was old.
After them sitting in the garage for a week, i decided to re-finish them by myself. I stripped off all the paint and inspected some bondo. There were still some I used Bondo's Glazing and Spotting Putty (HERE) This time I used steel wool to sand them, along with the 220 grit sand paper. I added some coats of grey paint... sanded with some more with steel wool... and added two final coats. This time they came out smooth as a babies bottom!
Oh yeah.. they are going to be painted semi-gloss black soon.
