Default Buddy wants to get solobarics, have a few questions...

Well one of my buddies with a mustang wants to get 2 10" Kicker l7solobarics. He wants to get the 800 watt kicker amp but the subs are rated at 600 watts RMS 1200 peak. I was thinking well maybe he could get the Hifonics 1500 watt amp which costs about 30$ more but is almost twice the power. Do you think 750 watts a sub rms would be good? (yes i kno what u r thinking. 1500 watts isnt rms but i was reading about this amp and its accually supposed to be underrated. Supposed to be good amp for the money) The reason I am asking is because I dont know how well these subs can take wattage over the rms. Thanks for the help guys

kicker im sure is very similar to JL and many other companies, and the subs are a shade underrated as far as rms goes, and whats the worst that has to happen, he gains down the amp a shade?

Jesse is correct. I would rather have to turn the gain down than up on an amp. Plus with the gains down, the amp would run more efficient and most be pushing it as much.
