I still have my stock Si radio and sound system. Almost evrytime I turn the music up all the way in about 30 mins the whole tihng turns off. Could it be the deck or the speakers or what.......

 

Sounds like the stock amp is overheating and shutting off

 

check your speaker wires
is there anything that metal can touch
had the prob with a jvc deck
the wires in the door would vibrate when turned up loud and then it would contact metal it would shut off for a short time

buy a new cd player that wont do that

because it takes 30 mins of full volume for it to turn off I'm gonna stick with the internal amp is overheating and shuitting off

think of an amp as a motor

do you ride @ redline for 30 mins? what do you think would happen? maybe there wont be a problem. Now imagine that if you were doing that voe hills and randomly adding a 50lb bag of sand to your trunk

what now? well the motor wouldnt be happy

now make it a really shitty motor, like an anemic 1.3 out of a geo with 100k on it

wont last long

stock cd players, 90 percent internal amps are the same way, not exactly meant to play loud and for long periods fo time.

I don't think you can really fix it... I doubt there is anyway to put some type of "cooling fan" or whatever back there.
