Default FlatTire EF/ED7 Build

Ok, here's how this one starts. I bought my hatch from a friend of mine who's motivation was seriously lacking. I needed 2 more seats over my CRX and so I decided to transfer all the good, oprational stuff from the CRX to the Hatch, and so it started... I drove the CRX home on my birthday day in Sept 2009, the next four days and beyond is history!

This is how the hatch was when I got it.

Was very happy to see my sub box fit under the covers. Had to take my spare out in the CRX to accomodate it :-p

Motor in the CRX... Last pics in this bay!

Emtee... The engine bay in the hatch... The dipstick before me decided it would be a good idea to half-ass a rattle can paint job in there! Great... Now I'll have to bust my knuckles to get it back to white! Not today!!

My battery relocation!

I'll take this, and this, and one of those too!

Got some work done this weekend...!

The new Honda Hover-car! Lol!

Had a friend throw some new enamel on the bay while I was at work! Looks pretty good!

Puttin the new clutch in

Don't scratch that new paint! I beat dat ass!!!

The monster is slowly awakening...

Finally able to paint these!

Bleed the brakes put the coolant system back in, get the electronics hooked, and take her for a spin. Where did I put those wheels...?

The setting...

She runs great! Had a lil issue with a wire coming undone for the VTEC, but found that, and now all she needs is a good bath and some detailing! Glad to be back in her! She's puttin a smile back on my face! I'll get you guys some more pics just as soon as I get em snapped!
BTW: Anybody know/have some DA coupe parking cables??? In dire need of some since I wasn't informed that the CRX cables are about 5 inches too short for the hatch!!!

Woot woot! Update! Yay! Been waitin for this for a long time! (sorry!)

This company turned out to make a decent radiator. This company, however, needs to fire their R&D department! There is NO WAY they ever got this into a STOCK EF application!!! I had to mod all kinds to get this big ass bastartd to fit into the car. I had to notch the subframe for a bolt boss just under the fan. I had to cut two more off, and i had to clearance the condensor fan mount just to get it to sit down into the car. after all that I found out the the posts that are mounted in center of each side of the tanks, should've been offset to compensate for the sheer girth of the new radiator...! Bleh< all in all I got it in, it's pretty and it WORKS! LOL!

I hate to burst your bubble. I'm not goiong to go through and reconstruct this entire thread again... It has taken me 2 years to build this car so far and there is just too much to have to go through and rebuild this entire thing. So, I'm just gonna give you guys highlights. If you care to take a look at the ENTIRE original build thread you'll find it at NWP4LIFE - Honda Forums: Flat Tire EF/ED7 build.

I saw these and flashedback! LOL! Gettin work done! I go to see her this weekend!

It's a bit brighter than what I was looking for but I can live with it! I was hoping for more of a candy but there was a small malfunction with the paint and a break down of communication. It's still gonna look sic!

You can actually see some of the flake in this pic!

Painter scared the bee-geezus outta me with this one...

"You like yellow, right?"
"WTF??"
He was using it as sort of a color primer so he wouldn't have to lay down so much red. Says the red is slightly more transluscent than he's used to.

=(

It rained today so that put a bit of a damper on painting.

So there ya have it. I have a USDM ED7 that I built a nasty N/A SOHC D16A6. Had my fun with that motor, sold it, and built a JDM B16A dropped it in and haven't looked back since. A detailed build up of both motors is at the afformentioned site. Living in Texas I was an Automotive Machinist and avid Honda-head. When I get to Florida I'll be just an avid Honda-head. I don't think I'll ever pursue a career choice as an Automotive Machinist again. Hobbyist car builder for sure! LOL!
