Default wrx question

Is it possible to put down good power in the regular wrx motor with just bolt ons and a tune. I was just curious to see if it was possible without upgrading the turbo.

Depends what you consider good power. Stock turbo can get you low 13's with bpu and a tune

you can get 12s with the stocker. high 12s, but 12s none-the-less. its good for at about 280 whp perhaps, obviously requires a good driver to get 12s but the car will be capable. However, itll need more then just bolt ons. porting, methanol, and tune are absolutely required. along with fuel and intercooler and whatnot, with EWG being a helping factor as well.

just dont bother with an intake, and definitely no BOV, keep the stocker if you can. Also a header isnt entirely necessary either, but can help with top-end power with the downfall of a little less torque (thats heresay as i have no experience with it, but thats what ive heard). But that is another thing you can port and coat it to give you a little more top end and maybe a bit more boost response, thats where the coating comes in.

That would be upgrading the turbo, something that person said they didn't want to do.
