Default New 69 Camaro reproduction shells

A friend told me that gm restoration parts was selling reproductions of 1st gen camaro shells. I was wondering how close they are (And how they generally compare to the originals). It seems that it would be cheaper (and easier) nowadays to just buy a new shell, then hunt down a original 69 camaro and deal with rust, media blasting, disassembly , e.t.c.

Im not sure if GM sells a '69 shell, but I know someone does becuase the whole concept has drawn major fire from the purist's who think there's already too many fake '69 z28's,SS's and so forth.

the company is based out of Ca, last I heard they were only making conv bodies with a shell for 11-12g and a running car for somewhere in the 40's. I'll see if I can find a link

I found cpuparts selling a 69 camaro shell. I would assume that it's from the same company. The level of craftsmanship is unbelievable... looks like they just came fresh from the factory.

the article I read on this was about a year ago , they built a 69 from the ground up with the shell and all repro parts except maybe the subframe, can't rememeber for sure. doesn't all bolt together like a toy but was a nice product from what I read.

they sell a coupe and a vert, they're both 13,500 it goes firewall back, they supposedly use original gm molds but have upgraded fitment quality. they look super nice but You'd really need a car with a title to be able to drive it. Hope they do a 68 one day, then I might would do it.
