Default master cylinder

well, here is the prob.i know nothing about brakes, i have manual brakes, disc in the front, drum in the rear. i have a power brakes master cylinder. the smaller rear resivour is leaking into the front larger resivour. the master cylinder is the last thing to replace on the brakes.i know there is a sensor, 2 lines, and 2 bolts on the fire wall. i read a chiltons, and it says disconect the plunger and it says to disconect something else only on manual brakes. if someone could clear that up for me, maybe some pics of how to remove/replace the master cylinder from the firewall and pedal would be awsome. and what would be the best way to route a new bat cable from the trunk to the starter? i really need to do that soon.

I'm not sure on chevy's but I have manual on mine and all it takes is to pop the clip off the push rod at the pedal. Remove 4 nuts to the firewall, and take off the lines.

My trunk mounted battery is in the right rear area of the trunk. The cable runs through the interior on the pass side between the seat and door sill. The hole is drilled a little left of center of the firewall. I think they also want you to make sure that it is vented too. If your battery has a little vent nipple on it, just put a vacuum line on it and find a place to feed it outside the vehicle.

I'm not sure on the manual brakes, but if your '70 is like my '67, underneath the Fischer panel in the door jamb there is a big trench for wires with plenty of room. You could easily run a 4ga cable in there, drill a hole in the firewall, and hook it to the starter.

Totally off topic, but do those girls still do that trampoline shit across the street from my old house where you used to hang out? Those teenage breasteses bouncing up and down over the fence was TOTALLY distracting while trying to wrench on the car in the driveway.

roracer70,

first off, Hi..I remember you from Wendy's..

Anyhow, as to your situation..The place to go for all things related to 2nd generation Camaro's is www.nastyz28.com. Look for the Brake/Suspension forum and the Original Drivetrain forum and ask your questions. If those guys don't have the answer it can't be done

Man, how old were those girls, 16? It was painful, yet wonderful, to watch.
