Pandora's box...I wanna open it.
I grew up around classics. From Model A's, to desoto's, and even Avanti's, they were part of my life as a child. I used to goto the Turkey Rod run before it was the cool thing to do. Well, Disability took my father out of the car scene, and I chose a different path. I like the looks of old cars, but I love the feel of modern suspension. Cars are meant to be driven in my mind.
Lately I've been thinking about things agian. I love the 69 Camaro (who deosn't), but I want a smooth ride, and reliability. I also don't want a rust bucket....than I had a thought (inspired by others!). Here I shall plead my case.
Exhibit 1:
Dynacorn's and CARS "Camaro in a boxtm" .
Rust free and ready to go. No worries of underlyingt damages either. Need I say more?
Exhibit 2:
Julian Brother's Mustang http://www.lateral-g.net/members/julian/
Looking at pictures means nothing to most people, but look closer...still don't get it? read the article. Yep, that's an 2003 Cobra (rebodied!)

Wow...now your mind is ticking away, isn't it. So, you say that it appears that pandora's box has already been opened? I beg to differ, it's only been peaked into.
LIke I mentioned before, #1 reliablity, #2 Style. Did I mention Loyalty? NOPE!
So picture this, a 1969 Camaro Convertible with a 2004 Infiniti g35 donor (or insert other vehicle). Yes, only 295hp, smooth and quiet. A 6spd none the less, with awesome handling.
ahhh yes, the box will get opened...maybe not by me, but by someone. All you purist might as well face it now, it is inevitable.
Personally, it would make a perfect daily driver. Hey, anybody know where to find a wrecked g35?

Wow...I can only imagine the engineering that would have gone into making that come together. I can appreciate that alone! I would imagine the handling is awesome as well like they said.
But maybe it's just me, but one of the reasons I appreciate the classics is because they have lasted so long, and the old school styling. When I look at the dash it looks to "new"
. I like the looks of the classics and not just the shell. I think if it would have a little more old school flare as far as the interior I would care for the idea a little more. I don't want to look around and feel like I'm sitting in 03' styling, now 03' ride and handling yes, but I enjoy the whole aura I guess. It's just not the same to me to put the body of a classic on a new car lol. I know the purpose was for handling and comforts of modern day, w/ the classic look, but the only original thing classic on it is the shell right? Unless I misunderstood the article. I guess I'm kinda of a purist
.
I would like to see some of the other cars they have done though. It definately takes some planning to pull something like that off and get the reviews they did. How much do they go for?

I dunno, I kinda like the feel of a overweighted front end and lack of handling. I think the whole concept is pretty good, you get the best of both worlds if thats what your in for. To me a nice smooth riding muscle car would be a 70 Chrysler 300 hurst. All the power goodies like seats , windows, cruise and the 440 go fast option.
I think it should be against the law to put a rice motor in a american classic. JMO

Do not contribute to this CRAP! What is wrong with a stock camaro and add some nice suspension underneath it? hahah, your gonna drive a MUSCLE CAR with a V-6 Nissan engine it. YEAH RIGHT!!!! You'll probably have the 396 badges on the side too. Sad thing is when a smooth idleing v-6 infinity motor comes rolling up to the stop light covered in a camaro shell, the kids (read RICERS) would have no better clue than to assume it was the chevy big block under the hood purring like a kitten.
God I hope one of these things catches on fire and the company is sued out of business.
yes, it seems many are confused about the concept. It essentially would be a Camaro kit car, but in steal, rather than fiberglass.
PLease remember, the body is designed as a 'replacement' part, but I am opening the discussion as it being a 'shell' for a different car.
Had i said a 2002 Camaro SS as a chassis...the responses would have been different.
and as far as the 'ricers', what makes you think I care? I'm not all about racing.

WHAT!!!!!!!!!??? You don't care??? Well, you SHOULD care!!!
Is your nickname Luther? What you propose is evil. Mixing a Camaro with an Infinity. My God man!, I can barely even type that let alone try and comprehend the outcome. That is just not right. You are not right for even having these thoughts. I mean this is worse than cloning humans. The 1969 Camaro is a symbol of America. Cripes, even the terrorists don't fuck with Camaro's! Go kill some cats or blow up your neighbors house, but leave the damn Camaros alone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know you stated "insert other veh" but if someone was to order one of these why would you want a jap set up. Its not like a late model vette or caddy set up is junk. I've seen a Daytona Charger clone and a Cuda both with a Viper chassis. Now a set up like that or an old GM bod say with a vette drivetrain would get attention. Hey if I'm gonna dream its gotta be all the way.
This is what I'm talking about. And you can order it local.
